The Women's Resource Outreach Centre

This project aims to close the gender gap in STEM by empowering girls from Lyndhurst Greenwhich, Trench Town, and surrounding communities with foundational skills in robotics and coding. Over four months, participants will engage in weekly classes at WROC headquarters, covering robotics basics, coding fundamentals, and team-based activities. The program also includes guest speakers from diverse STEM fields, field trips to local tech companies and universities, and the launch of a STEAM club and Resource Hub to sustain interest in STEM. The expected outcomes are increased STEM engagement, improved confidence and skills in robotics and coding, enhanced problem-solving and teamwork abilities, and a long-term impact on participants' STEM education and career prospects.
