Girls Rock in STEM (Feminist Approach to Technology)

Girls Rock in STEM (Feminist Approach to Technology) aims to work with their community-level adolescent girls to build their agency to be able to make decisions for themselves. Their project will focus on promoting STEM as an education and career choice for girls who do not have this opportunity. Their approach includes work on hands-on activities such as small STEM and DIY projects, based on FAT’s curriculum co-created with us. The importance of STEM in everyday life will be highlighted. Defying gender norms, adolescent girls are encouraged to use power tools. Exposure visits to other organizations, science museums, and factories, will be organized. Constant interaction with parents and a community-level exhibition at the year-end to showcase their learnings through projects and models will enhance community engagement.
