Katha.akar empowers women and girls in Nepal by providing them with digital storytelling skills to showcase untold stories of various cultures, with a primary focus on indigenous girls to amplify their voices in their communities. The organization's main objective is to train local women and girls in creating and sharing digital stories, addressing the gender gap in media representation. Their interactive week-long workshops cover storytelling basics and hands-on technology training, including story writing, storyboarding, photography, video recording, narration, editing, and video compilation. Committed to promoting technology use among girls and achieving gender equality, Katha.akar aims to enhance its curriculum, expand workshops to three new cohorts, emphasize alumni documentation, and share girls' stories on broader platforms through this project.
